The role of the Administrator / Secretary / Personal Assistant has changed over recent years and now requires the broader skills of office management. To meet this need Griffith College has designed and structured the NFQ Level 6 Certificate in Office Administration to cover a range of areas including business management, computer applications, communications, customer care, business administration and accounting.
The course has been designed to equip students with the knowledge and practical skills required to either commence employment on completion or to use the qualification as a basis for progression to higher professional or academic studies.
Students who pass the Certificate Course may proceed to a Higher Certificate in Business course and obtain exemptions on a subject-by-subject basis.

Students are assessed through a combination of examinations and continuous assessmentsWhatever career path you choose office administration skills are essential in all office settings and are common and transferable across all sectors. This includes service and manufacturing industries and encompasses roles in, for example; insurance, finance, banking, law, education, retail, travel, tourism, hospitality, medical, health, social care.
Progression
Students who pass the Certificate Course may proceed to a Higher Certificate in Business course and obtain exemptions on a subject-by-subject basis.Steps For Undergraduate courses:
- Full time Applicants under 23 years of age should apply directly through the college or through CAO.
- Mature applicants for full time or part time and applicants under 23 years of age for part time should apply directly to Griffith College.
- International applicants should also apply directly.
